Manufacturing windows in Bayonne New Jersey since 1924, Ideal Window Manufacturers partnered up with Unified Window Systems Inc. in the mid 1980’s. Taking over a previous yarn factory in Hempstead Village was the perfect spot to show customers the wide range of custom manufactured windows as well as all the brands of Doors, Siding and Roofing Unified offered to the public. Steven DiMare, President and Chief Executive Officer said “We really grew very quickly when we first got started because our industry previously had never seen our type of no gimmick advertising and pricing. We were accepted as a breath of fresh air right from the very beginning”. Chase Peres and Dan Riccio, Vice President and Operations Manager added “Even today people are pleasantly surprised when we charge them the exact prices they saw in our advertisements. To this day no other companies are doing that”.

   Through the 1980’s
and 1990’s Unified continued to grow as even as it saw ups and downs in the
industry. Staying on top of the latest technology with energy saving
manufacturing processes were of the utmost importance to the company. Things
such as Low Emissivity Glass, Argon Gas and Krypton Gas filled glass changed
the way windows were tested and sold. Advancements in roofing materials, and
siding materials saw longer life spans and better warranties. Doors were made
more secure with steel frames as home owners felt the need for the best
security. Over the decades Unified advanced with the market and kept it’s
customers well informed.

   Karen Nardi,
company controller, was with the company from the very beginning and can’t
believe how the company just keeps expanding. She said “I guess when you
continue to offer the best products at the best prices you’re going to just
keep on growing” and growing is exactly what Unified has done. Even in this
difficult economy Unified’s no gimmick pricing has seen there sales continue to
climb over the last 5 years. Up over 50% percent in sales and almost doubling
the number of employees is just unprecedented in this economy.

   With the upper
management all having come from hands on back grounds doing installations Steven DiMare said” I think that has been our secret
to success and longevity. Knowing first hand what a proper installation is has
been invaluable and all the partners and managers either started as installers
or have been involved with installations from the very beginning”.

Unified has also expanded it’s line of products over the years adding things like Awnings, Attic Insulations, Masonry, Interior Doors, Porticos and Stone Work. The company has partnered up and continues to partner up with some industry giants making sure they are properly installing these high quality lines. Most recently are Pella Windows but they also are affiliated with companies like Owens Corning, CertainTeed, Andersen, and naturally the company that started the rich Long Island history, Ideal manufacturing. While being partnered with these manufacturers Unified continues to be a top preferred dealer and contractor for all their manufacturers, including a Platinum preferred contractor of Owens Corning which only 1% of all contractors in the country can be a part of.

    In the late 1990’s
Unified responded to the requests of many Suffolk County
customers to have a showroom closer to their area. Opening in Huntington on Jericho Turnpike not only
services customers further east but also made it easier for north shore
customers to see all of Unified’s product lines.

In 2008 as many people moved even further east on Long Island it was again necessary to bring a full showroom closer to Unified’s ever growing customer base. A new 2000 square foot showroom was built in Patchogue that now services customers as far as Montauk. Just a year after in 2009 Unified opened up yet another showroom in Westchester on Central park Ave. because of the over growing demand.

The newest edition in 2012 was a Brooklyn Showroom something most people do not see. because of the overpopulation and dense areas around Brooklyn most contractors do not have showroom in that area. However, Unified finds it important for customers to have a place to go to see the products they are purchasing as well as have a professional in their area that they can speak to.
